Found some billet aluminum end caps for my XR style exhaust. Was running 20 discs on each muffler with a cloesed end cap. Which is what Supertapp recommends for the best performance. Decided I wanted to open the end cap and see what would happen.
Chucked up the billet caps in my lath and opened them to 1 1/2 inch's. Kept the discs in using the opened end caps.
What a difference it made, totally different bike now. This thing rips now, and it sounds much better. Before and after end caps below.

Looks way better but you lost the advantage from the Supertrap exhaust to finetune the sound, flow and backpressure, it's become a regular exhaust as there are many, .... did I already said it looks better now .

I still have a closed end cap that I can put back on if I wanted.
Did something similar.. but not the quite same to my friends XG750. The SE Nightstick exhuast was damaged in a small crash..so got rid of the damaged diffuser plates and end cap, fixed the good ones, flipped them around, new Stainless Steel bolts, a little filler - primer- sanding and paint. Boom results below. And yes the flow characteristics have surely changed, lot less punchy in the low end. Also the diffuser plates on the SE Nightstick exhuast are from Super Trapp (stamped on the plates themselves) ..waitin on the intake and Power Vision to tune it up.
