Help shifting problems.

I have a 2013 sportster xl. I was pulling into a gas station late at night and the glare on the helmet I didn’t see a patch of Little Rock’s. Was mid lean and hit it and slide out at 10-15 mph. Got the bike uo bar a little bent and the shifter broken. Replaced the shifter, still working on the bar and now I can’t get it out of first gear, won’t even go to neutral.

took the primary off, not the clutch basket and stator cover and the shifter paw springs looked good and on there.

I dropped my bike before and it wouldn’t shift and the spring for the shifter paw popped off but it doesn’t seem to be the problem this time. About to head to auto one to get the Rick sockets to tack the primary chain, clutch basket and stator cover off to further diagnose. Any suggestions??

clutch works it will roll with the clutch pulled in, tried rocking it and it’s not doing anything either

Congratulations on your first post to HDF,

to the Forum.

You may need to pull the clutch hub and inspect the shifter assembly and detent mechanism to see if anything is bent, out of place whatever.

You do have a HD service manual hopefully, that will show you the procedures.
