Default Advice for Arizona road trip

Headed to Scottsdale this weekend for a week stay, and renting a Softail for 2 days while there. Anyone have advice on good roads for cruising and for cool stops along the way?

You absolutely must go to Jerome. It's an old mining town about an hour northeast of Prescott and a haven for all bikers willing to journey up the winding mountain road leading to it. You also have to visit Whiskey Row in Prescott. Take my advise, you cannot pass these two places up. My dad lives off of old route 66 in Ashfork. He took me to these places on my visit this summer. Unfortunatley, I didn't have my scoot with me 'cause we flew down. I'm gonna' rent a bike next time and soak up the asphalt on my next trip. Enjoy the ride you lucky dog!!

Wish you had more time. You could come down to my neighborhood and I'd introduce you to Tombstone.

While in Jerome, travel a bit farther north and take a trip through Sedona, beautiful red rock. Welcome to AZ and enjoy your stay!

I live in Prescott and take a blast to Jerome on my 1200S every so often and never get tired of it, I was just there this weekend, the Spirit Room Bar on Main street has a row of bikes parked in front every weekend. Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon are not too far away from there. You'll definitely have a great time.

When you go to Sedona, you have to go to the airport area overlooking the town, at the top of the big hill... True postcard view.

My trip to Arizona changed my life; it was there (this past March) that I rented a Sporty for 3 glorious days, and the Harley bug bit me. I hadnt even gotten home and I started looking at Craigslist for a bike I could afford... I found the bike you see below in about 2 weeks. Paid cash for a used (but awesome) 1996 XLH1200S and have been grinning ever since. Best Summer of my life so far.

Enjoy the roads in Arizona!

I live in Prescott and ride to Jerome every few weeks. There is a old mine in Jerome called " Gold King Mine". It has about 130 old trucks cars and WWII motorcycles. Running steam engines, submarine engine, 2 stroke diesel engine, , old mining equipment, etc. Very enjoyableway to spend a few hourswith a colorful owner Don.

Jerome is a cool stop. Try going East from there to Camp Verde, get on Highway 260 and ride. Anywhere you go is gonna be a great ride, lots of scenery, great stops and a nice open road built for a scooter.

anyone riding in AZ needs to ride up to Canyon Lake. That is a stretch meant for bikes with great turns and great views.
