Easiest way is to just get the pipes hot and scrape it off with your thumbnail....CAREFULLY..... Then use a little Flitz metal polish (after pipes cool down). I have used this method several times with no scratching or dulling... Yes, you may burn your thumb...... But I never have

I use the oven cleaner carefully. Steel can and will scratch, as well as rust if any get imbedded in the chrome.

you burnt your foot on the muffler? I can rest my foot on it and ive never had my boot melt. in fact mine dont seem to get that hot, i can rest my skin on it for awhile before i start to feel it.

easy off oven cleaner, it just sounds like it will do exactly what you need it to.
How long was your bike running for? Mine will get blazing hot!!!

The simple green and steel wool will work, just make sure its 0000 gauge so it wont scratch the chrome.

They say to heat the pipes up a bit, spray the easy off on a towel not directly on the bike, and wipe off the stuff on the pipe. I have not had this problem but good luck.

If your pipes dont get hot you should take it to MOCO and let them study it, since its the only Harley in the world like that it should be worth a lot of money.

I used a Mr. Clean Eraser. It took the stuff off with just a little water.
