I rode almost 100 miles yesterday non stop on my 2005 xl1200c.
Today, I can hardly walk. My back and tailboneare killing me. I may not be able to ride again for a week.
Is there a comfortable upgrade available? I am looking at the Sundowner in the HD catalog, but I have no way of testing it out. I would hate to throw away $269 for a seat that may not be right for me.
You won't regret spending the cash, trust me. It's the best possible investment you can make on a Sporty. The stock piece of lumber that came with your scoot is a piece of $hit that needs replaced immediately. I could neverride againwithout my Sundowner.

Believe me, I will pay right now if I could be comfortable on a long ride. I have a sissy bar with rigid side plates, do you know if that is compatable? When you changed your seat, did it change your riding position? I wouldnt mind sitting back an extra inch, but I do not want to get closer.
I have both the mustang and, the sundowner. I found that the sundowner pushes me forward towards the gas tank, which I don't like. It's great for 2 up riding though, which is why I bought it. The mustang kept me pretty much in the neutral position. I like its looks more and end up changing seats all the time for the occasions my wife joins me. Corbin, lepara and, custom seats done by a fitter are some of your other options. HD makes some decent ones like the pillow top they offer as well. You are just getting into the world of accessories you will find needed to make your bike fit you and your needs. Good luck. Keep your pocket book handy. Ride safe. .
Its not all to be blamed on the seat. There are a lot of little tricks to do to take the pressure off of one area of your butt and, onto another. Stretching out with a highway peg, twisting some in the seat from side to side, balancing yourself on the bike just a tad differently will ease this some. Last, you have to condition your butt. Take's time. A lot of the guys here like their stock seats.I don't think that they are in the majority though.
I have a Mustang Vintage studded 12 1/2". Real comfortable seat. I can ride for a long time compared with my stock seat where I could only ride for around 50 miles. Looks good on bike too.
