Default Anybody else trade "small"?

Howdy,
I'm seriously thinking about trading my Fatboy in on a leftover Sportster to trim payment room for a third bike (yes, I'm an addict[8D]). The only reason I traded my 1200 in on the Fat was to haul my Honey more comfortably. True, she does love the big bike, but I miss the 1200's agility and payments. When given the choice to ride solo and commute, I take my Interceptor instead. The Fatboy just sits until Sunday afternoon's when she can go with me. That's a lot of $$ sitting in the garage 6 1/2 days a week! She'd be fine on a Sporty for those afternoon cruises I would love to have one again for solo's.
Anybody else trade smaller? (That's right, I'll NEVER say trade "down" regarding a 1200!) Regrets? Observations?

Thanks!

BTW: There's an '08 883 available in bare bonesblack. Since I've only ridden 1200's, would the 883 be enough juice for combined weight of 300#s?

Thanks!
The 883 has plenty of guts to haul around 300lbs., but like any Sportster, the question is for how long will these "two-up" rides last? There is a limit on all of them for comfort. Personally, I think two-up rides on a Sportster need to be limited to 300-350 miles per day. I have found that frequent stops to "stretch" are required...

yeah, what he said. How much do you owe on the FatBoy? I am thinking you will be bent over on the trade... Keep the fatboy, and go buy a used 1200. I truley love my 1200, and feel the need to have both. I am eying the FatBob... but I want to get a side car for the 1200 first... so in a couple years the garage will have both. I say hold off on getting rid of the Fatboy. Just take your time and save for a 1200. The beautiful thing is, it does not take long as they are not that expensive.

Thanks, Thumper,
The rides would be limited to a few hours.
As for long rides, we rented a Road Glide for a three day trip out Westand were totally spoiled. Best long distance bike I've ridden. Blows any softail away IMO. Unfortunately, I don't have enough equity in the Fatboy yet to trade for a Dresser.

Hey, Lewd,
That was the original plan, but my cousin got me hooked on sport bikes and I bought a usedInterceptor (cash) as a second bike. Thought two Harley's would be too similar to justify double payments. I will take a hit on the Fat, but if I buy a leftover Sporty, I can softena bit of the pain. Besides, the 1200 could be paid off quickly and I'll save a ton on interest alone.

If you are used to the kick in the pants a 12 gives you will be very disappointed with an 883.

You know I put a big ol fat mustang seat on my sport and my wife isgood with the comfort. Her biggest complaint has to do with rear foot rest placement. She would like to have a little more room that the longer frame of a glide would give her. But, we generally do rides that are less than 400 miles and we stretch every hour or so.

Thanks, Guys.
Somebody just traded in a 1200C with a Mustang touring seat w/backrests. If the wife likes it, it's the one we'll get. Now, I just need the patience to wait for her ...[:@]
