Default Need suggestions on shocks?

I seem to bottom out a lot when riding two up. My weight is about 190 and wife weighs about 125.’

Which of these shocks would be best?

Thanks in advance.

412 Series Shock :13.5" Heavy Duty
412 Series Shock :13.5" Standard
412 Series Shock :13 Heavy Duty
412 Series Shock :13 Standard

What setting are your stock shocks at when 2 up?

I found the top setting to stiff, the next setting down will still bottom out but worked well otherwise.

If you do adjust them and want a better ride then get whatever is best for your size & budget.

Longer is not always better.

My smarta$$ reply was going to be.....Yes, have 2 of'em in the rear..[8D]..But I guess your reply is actually better. Set the stockers at the heighest setting and try that for now before buying all new.

I have the stock shocks on an XL1200C and I have them at the highest setting (5). I still bottom out on "sharp" bounces whether riding solo, or 2 up with either my daughter (maybe 90 lbs) or my wife (a little bit more than 90 lbs) on the bike. I weigh about 180. It's my opinion that the stockers are barely passable at best and I plan on upgrading before the '08 riding season. I'd like to keep the height as is, so I'm considering 11.5 or 12" standard Progressives. I planon watching eBay over the next couple of months and hope I find something before the spring arrives. I'm tired of the good swift kick to the spine that the stockers deliver.

Given that you have the R model, longer is better. I would recommend the 412 Series Shock 13.5" Standard Duty unless the majority of your riding is 2up. If you run 2up most of the time then go with the 13.5" heavy duty.

stocks are good for 20k then they are junk anyways(well actually they are junk off the showroom floor), might as well get some good ones imo.

Shocks are set at the highest setting, no help. Have fooled around with all setting none of which seem to work very well.
