Sean & two of his friends spent a few hours on Saturday getting a stripped bolt out of the Derby cover on my Sporty. They did not appear to be having much fun
That is where i striped all three of mine but why three hours it took me about 45 min to drill them out.
dude - 3? - that blows. Changed over the clutch cable today and the only problem I had was droping the Jeesuss clip that held the lever pin in place - my eyes are horrible when tryin to find a tiny arss clip on a black rug - buddy found it acctually had 1 bolt loose on the derby, just above the cable without even touchin it - glad I found it - entire change over took mabey 10 min.

I guess they tried to drill it but the bolt broke so they had to remove it by hand. I don't know much about this stuff but they were not happy campers

Not all but alot of the problem is steel bolts , aluminum cases, that is the deal with the Derby covers. Anytime two different metals contact, over a period of time they, or the minerals in them react against each other and Whammo, seiezed bolt, in softer metal = stripped threads. It should be a law, if a hole in aluminum requires threads it should be Heli-coiled. (stainless steel insert threads). I have seen this a million times over the years.
