HELP socket for fork cap
I was going to install my Progressive fork springs on my 06 1200-C today. I cald all over Lansing Mi and no one has a 1 3/8 socket in stock. For me to order one it will be 4-7 days and the best price I could find is $ 25 some was as high as $ 54. How did you guys that have done this come up with the socket? did you just pay up and wait for one to come in?. I didn't know this would be such a problem. From what I can tell, I need a socket so we can push it back down to reinstall the cap. Man, I'm not working much, things are not to good in Michigan right now, and $ are hard to come by, and they go fast at the Gas pump.I dont want to spend that much for something I may never use again.
Is they any other way?...Thanks.

Your best bet is to get one off the net.
Here's one: http://www.cyclespot.com/Merchant2/m...t_Code=05-6292
Based on their location you should have it in 2 days with ground shipping.
These sockets will keep you from messing up the chrome nut and makes the reinstallation easier.

While I should of just used a large adj. wrench (which I did not have either and cost about the same)for what the socket cost when I did it I ended up getting the socketat Sears (typically a stock item) for $29 plus a little more for adators to mate it with my socket set.
I finally got a hold of a old rusty socket from a guy with a old repair shop that my Brother helped me find. I got the caps loose tonight. I will install the new springs tomorrow...Thanks for the advice...
