Default Going Solo

When I went from a two-up to a solo seat, I noticed that the third hole closest to the seat does not have a nut or nutplate on the back side of the fender. Is this something I need purchase from the dealer? IfI just use a regular nut and bolt then I can't quickly remove the screw to change back to two-up when the wife wants to ride. Thanks in advance.

Someother people will chim in. I know you have to move that one forward or back depending on the seat. I do not know how to do this yet.

THE BLACK PLUG THAT CAME ON THE BIKE NEW WONT FIT OVER THE NUT. WHAT I DID WAS GOT ANOTHER CHROME SCREW LIKE THE ONE THAT HOLDS THE SEAT DOWN AND PUT IN THE NUT THATS NOT BEING USED. THEY MIGHT MAKE SOME PLUG THAT FITS OVER BUT I'M NOT SURE. I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE TO YOU.

+1 If you don't have the threaded insert you can use a plug but if you spent the 2.14 and buy the insert the plug wont fit and you'll need a nice looking screw. I was wondering when I bought my bike why it had a screw in the middle of the fender yet my buddies 883 came with the plug. When I bought the pillion I got the threaded insert thinking I was going to need it but I didn't cause there was already one there but it was really 2 dollars and some change.

Yea, that insert is movable, but a pain, technique is covered in the insert instructions. Get another and the trick is to find a custom top to your 1/4" seat screw and the exposed one that match and add a custom finish to the fender.
