You still follow the recommended change interval listed in the Owners Manual, of evry 5K miles, whether you're running syn. or not. I change mine every 3K miles, it's cheap insurance. Regardless of oil mfg. claims of extended mileage changes, the oil filter still needs to be changed at 5K miles anyhow.
Frequency? Normally 100.3FM... It's classic rock with a little new rock thrown in.
But seriuosly... I always put 2500 on the sticker and then procrastinate a little when it is time to change. I do the primary/tranny every second oil change.
This is incorrect....Amsoil states twice the MOCO's drain interval, which is 5k miles, basically stating it is good for 10k miles....
keep in mind , though, that Amsoil makes aFIBER (not paper) oil filter they recommend for the 10k mile intervals...which is far superior to the paper elements for real good filtering......Idon't use the cheapo paper filterson my bike period..................BINNY...................

Regardless of Amsoils claims, the fact that the media is FIBER vs anything else is immaterial. If the filter is actually any good and doing its job, the filter will start becoming clogged with debris that it is removing (trapping) from the circulating oil by the time you reach 5000 miles. If the filter isn't becoming clogged by that time it's because it isn't working.
the guy was looking for drain intervals, that's all....just leave it at that....
......for some reason you like to pick apart every oil related thing I post....... ya got a hardon against anything Amsoil claims or I say......maybe you can educate yourself on this stuff....LATER.....BINNY

Binny, the fact is that I have done quite a bit of unbiased research on oil and oil analysis and the fact is that Amsoil is among a GROUP of synthetic oils that are all of superior quality. I only have a problem when people of blind faith tout Amsoil's biased claims and white (toilet) sheets that falsely claim that Amsoil is superior to anything else on the market.
Cutting and pasting Amsoil's propaganda sheets into a forum post, as many Amsoil fans like to do, only shows a lack of any real knowledge of the subject.
