Hey guys, I am new to the forum and bikes, just bought my first one, an 05 883. I instantly realized I hate the sound of the stock mufflers, or lack there of, and have began looking around at different slip on options. I want my Harley to sound like a Harley should. \\;
 \\;
Anyone have any suggestions or preferences based on their experience? Cost is a bit of a factor, however I would rather spend a bit and be happy. Any great choices or mufflers to avoid? Any input is appreciated.
Hard to go wrong with Vance and Hines. I have Straightshot Slipons on my 08 883C. Excellent sound! Got them from Eastern Performance, $250. I've also heard good things about the Shortshots. Whatever pipes you put on it, be it V&\\;H or otherwise, I would look into a stage 1 (I went with the an Arlen Ness Big Sucker). And rejetting the carb.
I just bought a '03 Sportster Sport 1200. \\; The guy I bought it from \\;changed out the stock exhaust for some \\;D&\\;D 2 in 1's. \\; Sounds really nice but I'm considering changing them out. \\; I've always thought Cobra's sounded really nice. \\; They'll run you in the $500-$600 range.
 \\;
Good luck.
My opinion is you will be very happy with anything from BUB, Reinhart, or Vance &\\; Hines. \\; Great aggressive sound, great quality. \\; Well worth your money.
