Default Odd request
Is it possible to detune an XL1200. When I leave from a stop my bike jumps away, lots of torque. I want a smooth takeoff and acceleration. Is this possible with injectors?

You just need to readjust your clutch, no detuning necessary.

The clutch takes hold about half way out. How do you adjust the clutch on a 1200C? I assume it more to it than just the cable adjustment.

Yes, I do need a service manual. It is a 2008 XL1200C.

If it's an 08, the clutch shouldn't need adjusting, unless you ride a lot more than most. If it does....take it to the dealer. You should be able to get a very smooth take off.

I have not problems with my 1200N, you probably just need to get use to the clutch let out.
