Default Sissy bar height preference

For those who have riders, what is the overall preference on a bar height? I'm undecided on getting the tall or short. The OL is approx. 5'6".

I have 3 rails in different heights but the grand kids and misses like the short butt stop with pad.

I had the "Low Upright Medalion" sissy bar. It sits about 8" above the seat. Passengers always were comfortable. The tall sissy bars look a bit out of place on a Sportster, in my opinion.
I actually have the model sissy bar mentioned above, with the pad, and also with rigid side plates listed on eBay for cheap! And I mean CHEAP! They just don't fit my bike anymore.
New it's over $200 from the dealer, "buy it now" is $75....shipping included. If interested, PM me, and I'll give you the link.

Depends on what you plan on doing with it. Longer rides usually go with taller bars. As I'm sure your aware I offer low profile bars which are great for keeping her on the seat and thats about it. Every once in a while we get a return because the misses didn't think it was tall enough.

Does she just want a butt stop or something to lean back on?

I think you will be happier with the low bar.

Like everybody says, for a backrest it boils down to what feels right for the person using it. I'm running the medium height, and the daughters like it. Cosmetically I prefer the low or med low. For attaching t-bags & gear for road trips, I wish I'd gotten a taller one.

My kids and wife like the bar to hit them in the upper back. Currently I have the low bar and they're very unhappy that I got rid of the med-low one. So I'm probably going back to that.

I picked up the one kahaone is selling. If it doesn't work, I'll go to plan B, let her buy her own bike. LOL

Harley's size designations are a little confusing. The Low upright is actually higher than the Medium-Low. The Medium Low is midway between the Low and the Short upright. Go figure...!
