Hey friends, question for you. I have the extended service warranty doodad with harley and am scheduled to take it in for minor service. It seems I have a leaky gasket at the head, and it's leaking oil ever so slightly. My question is this: I have not completed the stage 1 upgrade as of yet, and have only put on new mufflers (V&H hs slipons). No a/c or download. Are they going to give me a hard time about that and try to get out of honoring the warranty, or is it a mute issue. I don't think the exhaust has anything to do with the leak, but after reading about another guy's warranty nightmares, I suppose I'm a bit nervous. Anybody have thoughts?
Just for adding the slipons I don't think they will give you a hard time at all. I put Rush Slipons on my bike and had a issue and when I took it in they didn't even mention anything about the warranty. You should be fine. They fixed mine and didn't ask any questions at all.
The way it was explained to me is the dealership has to be able to directly attribute the problem to your modification in order to dishonor the the warranty. I don't see how slip ons could cause what you are describing.
speaking of warranty i as well bought the extended and i was told if i put slip on my self my warranty would be void but the same pipes and if H-D put them on the warranty would be fine what kind of b/s is that

That's TOTAL and complete b/s. And I would probably never enter that dealership again.

Well the first time you fill it up with non harley certified gas, you have pretty much voided that warranty. "Failure to do comply could cause serious injury or death." Its all over the manual...
