Default leaning and scraping

was out with the old lady today on my 05 883L. was making a sharp left when i began scraping on the kick stand area. is there any solution to not scrape the kickstand anymore? i get pretty low on my pipe side to and never have a problem.

I have found that the stock sidestand spring on my 1200C lets the stand sag a little. I suppose if a shorter spring could be found it would keep the stand up closer and not let it scrap.

Maybe a shock adjustment, I've got the same problem, and have to figure a way to do it and not offend the woman.

The "L" stands for LOW, what did you expect?

Longer shocks will cure it or do like the pros do and lean your body more and not the bike as much.

cHarley said it...
Longer shocks w/ stiffer springs or adapt your riding style.

Assuming your kickstand spring is not worn out and the entire stand mechanism is in perfect order.

just make the adjustment and tell her it is for "her comfort" I had to do the same thing kind of. My bike is lowered so I kept rubbing my rear tire on the bottom of the fender and rubbing the wires bare. A simple shock adjustment make a huge difference. and oh yeah, I bought a treadmill too. lol

Just adjust it one at a time and give it a go and see if that solves the issue. If not do it again until you stop scraping the side stand. i haven't had that problem but i did scrap the exhaust once and got a good scuff mark on the bottom.

When half your wear pegs are gone it will stop on the left. No way to get rid of the chicken stripe on the right with stock exhaust.
