Default Remote Start on bike?

So what does everyone think of the idea of having a remote start system put on a bike? There's a new audio shop in town and i mentioned the idea to them and they think it might be a hit. I think it would be a cool feature to have just got fun. Ya bad thing is, make it easy for someone to steal so you'd have to have a security program on it, but yay or nay? Or just like the idea???

Only problem is that it would be hard to set up a remote on the enricher and throttle, and I don't think my bike would do a cold start without one or the other.

I agree with Tralfaz. PLUS, are you willing to be sure you always left it in neutral, or that someone didn't sit on it and pop it into gear on you? Personally, I'd not consider a remote start...

Next time you ride, try walking up to your bike and hitting the start button without touching the throttle or enrichner. Sounds like an opportunity for embarassment and problems to me.

Yep, I can just imagine looking out the window at my baby, hitting the start button, and watching her lurch forward and drop on the side. I think I will pass.[:@]

AAAAAAaahahahahahahahaha Thats what I was thinking. I have been trying very hard to get into the habit of parking in first gear just to make it harder to roll. I have heard of bikes left in neutral and parked on a bit of an incline, only to be found laying on their side later! (Shudders)

The only place I park mine in neutral is on my garage floor where I know it's flat and level. (And nobody else will be messing with it.) Any and all other times my bike is in first gear, bars turned to the left. Remote starter wouldn't be too good of an idea for me.

If you habitually park your bike in neutral, someday you will have to pick it up.

It's possible, with some engineering. You wouldn't want to just throw any ole remote starter on your bike. It would have to be controlled by some sort of logic unit.
Hit start
the logic unit checks for a positive signal coming from the neutral position switch, if the bike isnt in neutral the sequence stops
if in neutral an electric motor can open the enricher
starter is engaged
rpm will need to be monitored by the logic unit
as the rpm increases the electric motor closes the enricher to maintain 2000 rpm for a specified amount of time (programmed by the user based on bikes warm-up characteristics).

Not impossible, can be done safely, just needs to be well designed.

Looks like a big NO on it. When Sportys get EFI from the factory it would be interesting. Still not good enough for me.
