Default Progressive 440s

I just finished installing a new pair of Progressive 440 rear shocks. I installed the left side first with no problems. When I installed the right side, I had to jack the bike up a little bit to get it on. I was following my manual and it says I didn't need to jack up the bike as long as the other shock was still on. Also, the instructions that came with the Progressive shocks states I need to use the #1 spacer and #4 spacer for each bolt. I installed as instructed and everything looks fine. I haven't gone for a test ride yet but I just wanted to make sure that everything I did and used is correct. Thanks for any info.

What length did you put on, just curious. To answer your question, it sounds like you did everything correctly. I had to put a thin washer between the right inside spacer and the belt guard mount. The bottom of the shock rubbed the guard bracket, but just barely, yours may not.

If the shock doesn't obstruct anything (ie beltguard) and you have the bolts torqued to the recommended specs then you're good. Go for a ride!

I have the 11.5" shocks. I did triple check everything and I don't see any obstructions. I did torque the bolts to proper specs. Unfortunately, it is raining by me right now, so I have to postpone the test ride. Thanks for the reponses. Very much appreciated

Here is a shot of the washer, I put one at the top too so the shock would not be out of line. I have 13.5" 440 srandards with LAChoppers 1" lowering blocks to gain suspension travel but not too much heighth. It worked to perfection, I run Progressive fork springs with BelRay 7w oil.

Thanks for the pic, 1200 C Driver. Mine clears the belt guard with the spacers Progressive instructed to use. I didn't need to add another washer. I'm going to test ride my bike later today after work.

My 13.5" 440s were $544 and free shipping, the current price for 11.5" 440s is here.
