Just got my Stator/Battery/Regulator replaced 500 miles ago on my 06 XLC. Everythings been fine, but after lunch today she wouldn't turn over - it seemed the more I tried the less responsive it got. Finally - just a bunch of clicking noises from the starter I guess, then just one click per press.
Put a trickle charger on it overnight. And grab a DVM. Check the voltage before you turn off the trickle charger. You should have greater than 14V. Unhook the charger you should have around 12.6V let it set for an hour or so and it should still be around 12.6V start the bike at idle you should be around 13V with the meter still connected at idle hit the brake lights you should see a drop in the voltage then it should recover to near where it was with no brake lights.
That checks your battery, charging system and regulator, it does everything except load test your battery.
Also, check all four of the battery wire connections with a wrench to make sure they are still tight from when the battery was just replaced, as it could just be a loose cable.
