I have the HD oil temp dip stick on my 2004 1200 Custom. I am having a lot of problems getting it in a out, in fact so much I went back to the stock one, is this common or is there a fix ???
Thanks in advance for the Questions, I am new to the Sportster line.
Is it that you cant grip it or it simply wont come out.
My neighabors bike is 10mths younger than mine by production code and our factory oil tank plugs are different. Mine has raised bumps to better help with grip and his is smooth.
I am ordering a temp stick and I told him I would give him my old one as the grips make it from damn hard to easy to get out.
His temp solution was to scuff up the finish with some sandpaper.
You aren't trying to put it in incorrectly are you? There was a guy here having problems with his stock cap and didn't realize that there was a wide tang and slot and a narrow tang and slot. He was trying to put the wide tang into the narrow slot and it was jamming.
