Hey Heather, I'm in a real grouchy mood tonight, so I didn't post congrats, but here they are now. The one thing that did strike me in the photo's was that there wa almost no bend in your arms and wondered about the bars.
Good news, I hope! I just had the Buckhorn Bars put on my Dyna Super Glide and needed absolutely no new cables. The bars only cost $48. I had them put them on and last night while cleaning the bike, i did notice that there was one small unobtrusive spot where a cable used to go through, but there wasn't enough room now, but they left it there, in case I want to change back or to something else.
They may tell you that you will need at least a clutch and/or brake cable (that's what they told me at first) but after I developed a relationship with them, and they got onto it, they said everything was close, but everyting fit. Good luck ant that is one fine looking scoot and smile.
BTW, did you trade the Honda in or still have it? Art
Hi Heather! Again, congrats on the new bike. I found this webpage with all the specs on stock handlebars. You can go to your year and model and it will give you all the information you'll need to see if you will have to get longer cables. Good Luck, ride safe and enjoy the new Sporty!
If you look on my gallery, you can see the old drag style bars I used to have and the new buckhorns I have on there now. I did not have to change any cables on mine. So if you are going for simular bars, you should not need any serious modifications or cables.
