hey, i got an 2010 iron 883, can i remove the speedometer and the bike still run? i dont want to relocate it i want to delete it, i know my buddys 04 has a dyna ignition plug where his speedo would be. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
I want to go with a dragbike look. 8" riser with a broomstick bar. My question is will the bike run fine without the speedo or willl it throw a code? also does it just unplug under the tank or is it in a harness where it needs to be cut. I don't like any relocation kits and id rather do with it away. I have an idea on how to wire up my idiot lights if its a plug.

you'll never know if it throws a code tho, why would you want to get rid of it unless you were just using it as a drag bike but then why would you use an iron and not a nightster
I look forward to your post when you get pulled over for speeding and the cop asks how fast you think you were going and you just give him a blank stare.
Bigg I have a solution for the engine light neutral light and gas light. Im going to test each wire that's in the little harness that runs into the speedo or pull it apart and see which color goes where. Im sure all it does is light up a led. Ill make my own harness that will plug into the bike if I can find the. Same connector. And just run the colored wired to the right led and make a. Little case that'll house my three lights. I didnnt start with a nightster cause the the deal I got on my iron with 58 miles was a steal I can dump 2k into the bike and still be under 8k, that's including nhrs 1250 kit and stage 2 light work. With pipes a power commander intake ill be over 100whp. A brand new nightster would cost me more than what I can put all that work into an iron. And im sure my iron with this work would eat up a nightster.
And to x40 im not worried about speeding cause I usually ride with someone and I can judge my speed from other vehicles on the road.

Sorry dude, but it doesn't work like that. The leds in the speedo are driven by the serial data bus. I suggest you get a Service Manual and take a look at the electrical wiring diagrams, before you F something up.
