Spring seat for 48
#2
There are thousands of them. The HD one you can get through the dealer has a pan that bolts on, and the seat attaches to it. You can easily switch between different seats for different uses.
I found a ton of them on ebay as well.
I will be getting the one most easily modified for my needs, as well as replacing the springs with something that has a different compression resistance rate and feel.

I have the hd spring seat and just got off back to back 400 mile rides and felt great!
keep in mind i'm missing 3 discs in my neck(fused c-3 to c-7, 4 inch titanium strip,3 spacers, and 8 screws) 45 min after getting home I thought"I can still get an hour or so in on my Yamaha FZ1"(the FZ1 is a bike all of you should experience once,ok twice. sorry back to the seat. the seat is firm, roomy(is that a word?, allows you to slide your **** around a bit)and allows you to opener her up without sliding off the seat. i could'nt be happier(can't wait for my next road trip). note:stopping every 70-80 miles to fill probley did'nt hurt and the fact that i have avon mkII tires onto help soak up some bumps while allowing a little extra ground clearance(see pic of bike under see your 48's page 53?). hope it helps
