I am getting a noise from under the bike that sounds like change jingling in a pocket or a loose fastener. I only notice this when bike is over a bump or shift into 1st to here noise. any ideas?
I'm sorry, I don't have any idea re: the noise (so in that regard, I know this isn't a helpful reply - other than noting I don't have any such noise on my '07).
I am curious - either by reply or private post if you like, how you like/compare the sportster to your road king - I know they are very different bikes - I've been thinking about a road king (or alternatively heritage classic or soft tail deluxe) for longer rides - although I just replaced the seat on my sportster with a sundowner in an attempt to make the bike more "long ride friendly".

Just a guess because I don't know how many miles you have or the way you ride (and it really isn't important anyway), but you might want to check the primary chain for being too loose - may need to be tightened up a bit. When they're too loose, you can get a sound like you're describing...
The Roadking is by far the more comfortable bike for long runs. I got the sporty as a fun, take a quick spin, run to the coffee shop type bike. Hope that helps!
this is going to sound tooooo simple, but i had a similar noise coming from my bike, it sounded like it was coming from under the front of the bike, and was driving me crazy, it ended up being the gas cap rattle.
next time u are on your bike, put a finger on the cap while riding, and see if the loose change sound disappears
I had a 2000 883 custom a few years ago and right after I bought it, I started hearing a rattling noise coming from it. I had it back to the shop 3 different times and each time they couldnt figure it out. I finally sat down with the bike and just started wiggling every piece I could get ahold of. Turns out the bracket that holds the horn on was loose and vibrating. Coulda been worse I guess.
Thanks guys! The dealer found it! The little shroud over the headlight has a little metal circle hole in it with a metal plug. He tightened the prongs and put a dab of silicone. No more jingle bells!!!!
