I removed the spacers on the the taillights and used four 5/16 x 18 nuts and a piece of 5/16 x 18 threaded rod cut into 2 small pieces to attach the lights, then I drilled out the original holes where the wires go through the outer piece of trim metal so I never have to deal with getting the plug through again, and here's how it turned out.
What type of handlebars are you using? They look like the low rise drag bars I'm thinking of putting on.

they are sock iron bars. I would've had Roland Sands clip-ons installed but the parts guy at the dealership ordered me 49mm instead of 39mm, so I'll be another week out on those

you can use front or back part i used the front because i wanted it flat, it will take more work because you have to make the whole bigger to fit the shock bolt. As opposed to the rear that already fits. Also the part around the whole if you decide to use the front part, it will need to be cut a little to allow you to rotate it down.
