im new to this site so i dont know if it has been posted numerous times yet. Basically i was thinking about upgrading my 1200 with the big bore 88" kit. has anyone done this or does anyone know of any possible problems i could face if i go through with this mod?
The only problem I see is you need to be very mechanically inclined or rich because you have to break the engine totally down to bore the case so the cylinders will fit.

This. It's a very labor intensive job that requires modification of the engine case and other components. Not for the faint of heart.
Use 'search' with 'NRHS' and look through recent threads. The 88" is serious work, but a 1200 or 1250 is straight-forward and there are two current threads with progress reports.
This topic comes up every week, so take time to do a little reading through this forum. You will be surprised just what you can find!
Jason Sarratt will soon debut his turbo kit which will have the benefits we all seek with none of the drawbacks often associated with high output measures...this in the framework of expense we are speaking of now. Much to be said about a relatively docile bike with a beast on demand when needed.
