The skulls arre on the bike now, what kind are you putting bacck on? If possible, post a pic of the throttle grip you want to install.
When I swapped my bars, I was not sure what to expect. Found the clutch grip glued on. I just scored it with a razer and peeled it off. On the Throttle side, the entire assemply slid off after removing the 2 screws holding the mount together.
The new grips, which came from HD, went on easy as ever. The clutch side slid on, no glue .. It had a uni-directional lip that locks inside the mount to hold it on and keep it from rotating. The throttle side had the sleeve integrated and slid right on and locked into the mount.
ok here is how to do it.....get a metal coat hanger and cut about 12 inches of it off and straighen it out ...next bend it to a capitol "T" shape....file the bottom of the "T" smooth .....now shove the bottom of the "T" in between the handle bar and the grip until it reaches the end of the handlebar....now twist the top of the "T" and it should walk around the handlebar the opposite way that you twist....keep twisting until the wire walks all the way around the handlebar circumference....pull out the "T" and the grip should come off now....
thanks
That was a great suggestion but I had a task getting a screw driver in there to spray stuff. I found a chopper shop had a new sleeve for 6 bux. The plus side, when I get my much wanted WideGlide, I'll have old grips to put back on Sporty. LOL
