My 07 1200c started at 12.5k and when all was said and done, I got it for 10k, and I know they still made money on it. I didn't buy any of the extras, and after talking to others who paid more for their scooters, I'm happy.
Take a look at your reciept and see what you paid for justthe bike. Did you happen to have a trade in that you might of been upside down in ? A dealer that would just charge a price like that won't be around long. There must be something else going on here.
You can get tires from American Motorcycle Tire for that price or less. Blackwall D402's are about 85.00 front and 95.00 rear plus 8.00 each for shipping. Most shops will mount and balance them off of the bike for 20.00 per tire. All you have to do is take them off and put them back on. Piece of cake. Last time I checked at our dealer they wanted 125.00 for the front and 175.00 for the rear plus the mount and balance.
I have ordered a lot of tires from American Motorcycle Tire and have never had a bad experience.
well my local independant harley service shop drove 40 miles to a harley dealer bought the tires mounted /balanced/ repacked bearings for 170 a tire
ORIGINAL: ******
Where the heck does anyone get a SET of tires for 175 bucks? (I aint buyin tires off the Internet and then have to ask a shop to mount 'em, that is BS!) My tires last about 12k give or take and it's $300 mounted. So that would be $600, plus the fact if ya run over something and ruin a tire, it's covered. Like wanna said the 5k and the 10k service are gonna cost $500 a piece. Yes you can do them yerself, but what the hey. If your happy, it's a good deal. I owuldn't sweat it. Plus the maintenance is due at 1k 5k 10k 15k 20k 25k 30k 35k so ya gotta consider that too. Each one is different in cost. Like I said, don't let thses dudes ruin yer feeling, if you are happy it's a good deal.
I originally bought an extended warranty with my bike. But after I discovered how easy they are to work on, coupled with the dealership's inability to ever actually FIX a problem, I cancelled the extended warranty.
Took the refund, bought a Sundowner seat, Screamin Eagle a/c (which fixed the oil blow by issues the dealerships couldn't fix) took the wife out to a nice dinner. And tood the girlfriend on an overnight bike ride [sm=lildevil.gif]
I bought 2 dunlop [HARLEY DAVIDSON] tires and paid 150. Only go to the harley stealer if you have to.Where did you buy this bike?I want to make sure that i do not go there.
