Where the heck does anyone get a SET of tires for 175 bucks? (I aint buyin tires off the Internet and then have to ask a shop to mount 'em, that is BS!) My tires last about 12k give or take and it's $300 mounted. So that would be $600, plus the fact if ya run over something and ruin a tire, it's covered. Like wanna said the 5k and the 10k service are gonna cost $500 a piece. Yes you can do them yerself, but what the hey.
We get the D401 and D402 for $175 a set, and the standard Dunlop Warranty is extended to the first retail customer..
Mount and balance them ourselves.
Total cost for a new set of tires = $175.00, but it's your option if you want the Dealership to do the work for you and charge $300.
5,000 and 10,000 mile scheduled maintence $500 a shot? Ouch....
Harley's are very easy bikes to work on, and with scheduled maintenance costs like that it's just another good reason to get a Service Manual and jump in there...
I bought a set of those tires at OFG recommendation... Got them in a few days...They were fresh stock and seen no difference from what came on the bike... I had an Indy put them on... but still way cheaper than buying from HD and put on by them...
Hey... a buck is a buck...
I paid $9345.00 for my XLC 1200 which included Stage I...
dallastx has not responded,i hope he is not waiting in the harley parking lot for the salesman to show up for work.
He's probably out riding with a big smile on his face.
Iwish I was.[:'(] Although, I'd love to see his Bill of Sale and figure out how he ended up paying that much. Maybe the thread was just a joke.

i have always said(about car buying)i have never purchased a new motorcycle but i am sure salesmen are salesmen
.its not if your gonna get screwed, its just a matter of how far you let them stick it in.
i have NEVER purchased a vehicle without feeling like i got screwed.[]
i have never understood why we have to negotiate the price.i dont go to the grocery store and say (i will give 60 cents for that can of green beans.
MY WIFE wants to trade her car in all the time and i just hate going down there and dealing with those pieces of shi* .they are lower than a lawyer.
Sounds like you need a course in the art of negotiations. Let this be a lesson for ya, it's happened to the best of us. Not a damn thing wrong with banging out the best purchase price, it's your hard earned money. Enjoy the ride for all it worth...
I hate to say this, but they really screwed you over. MSRP on your bike is $7,795 and you paid $10,194. You paid $2,399 over MSRP for that bike. Then freight on the bike is $260 and you paid $697. Most people refuse to pay freight and you paid $437 over. I have no idea what a tire warranty or inventory tax is even. Basically, you paid as much for an 883 sportster as some people pay for a Dyna. You are very calm about this. I would be knocking down the dealership doors if I was given this news.
I personally would be very pissed off and talk to the dealership about this. That is not right at all. Which dealership was this? Now I have got to know.
