I ride my bike to work everyday and when I went to start it this morning, the alarm went off.. I assumed the battery on my FOB had gone bad, so I replaced it to no avail..
I also tried unplugging the battery from the bike and that didn't work either..
It's a 2011 Iron 883 with the proximity FOB with no buttons..
I was able to get the bike started (by guessing the override codes :S) and rode it to the dealership.. They said it could be a bad DSSM(?) module and that I need to schedule the maintenance to have it checked out.
So until I do that, people will think I'm stealing my own bike :P..
On the bright side, I got a brand new owner's manual from them for free.. wee
Sheesh.. I'm such a morron, I guess I missed the part in the manual where it says you can press both turn signals within 2 secs of turning the IGN to on and the alarm won't go off, and let you enter the code..
