You will find it useful in future, even with a simple job like this, to have the factory service manual to refer to. Helps avoid a lot of tears!
Back off the throttle cable adjusters, so there is plenty of slack in them. Ensure the twistgrip is turned so that it sits correctly in its housing and the two halves should then close together with ease.
I loosened them off what position should the throttle be like fully closed position in alignment to the handlebar what position should the 2 throttle cables be 12 o clock ? It has a throttle boss so the position should be easy to find. I'm taking photo's of everything from now on when I take something apart.

Ya I'm retarded , I went riding today with two friends one with at 48 and the other a Fat Bob and they both had small tiny gaps in the assembly so I pissed around for no reason. Ended up not getting the left Kuryakyn Zombie grip on fast enough with it stopping 1/4 inch from the housing so $100 down the drain . I don't think they'll sell just one , ended up putting Willie G grips on this morning in like 10 minutes including dropping a screw in the grass and a brass ferrule . First ride with the new Mustang Vintage solo , hell of a lot more comfy but it seems like my reach to the handlebars is shorter now to the point if I sit far back my arms are almost locked.
Loosing the swith housing a little then loosen the screws on the brake handle. Squeese the brake handle all thway so that the handle clears the small brake swith located on the back of the switch housing to avoid breaking it. It should all line back up fine, just have a little patience.
I got some progressive 412's and a Crappy tire lift , how hard is it to swap shocks? Looking at the instructions it seems like get it in the air and just loosen a coupe bolts swap the shocks , set the compression and make sure I have an inch clearance when fully compressed . Anyone done this ? Advice?
