So I hate the size of my stock nightster tank, I want the 48 tank, or at least the look.
Is this:http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/p1212/...ycle-gas-tank/ the same size & general dimension of the 48 tank? I've googled & haven't been able to find online dimensions of the 48.
so whats wrong with it? its the best looking tank out there! is it the range ? then why buy a Nightster? just asking...
nothing "wrong" with it. i want a different look, more bobber. bought the nightster used off a buddy, got a great deal. just looking for a 2.2gal tank.

plenty of 48 tanks on e-bay ...keep it simple i say
I don't mean to be unhelpful, but the Nightster is the most perfectly proportioned bike ever conceived by HD. It is timeless and like the last air cooled Porsche 911s it will be a collectors item in 10 years. Mark my words.
The designer nailed every single element of this bike perfectly. Even the gap between the seat and tank is aesthetically perfect. With the right shocks and seat and pipes there's nothing else like it in terms of the ride.
Take a look at this pic and tell me there's anything wrong with that bike?
^ the bike is beautiful. i couldn't agree more, nothing is wrong with the bike above but that is subjective. i've loved my nightster in it's current form for a long time. now it's time for a change, so i'm now bobbing it; chopped the rear, put a solo seat on, going with struts, etc. & the next move i'd like to make, other than small cosmetic changes is the tank. no disrespect meant here at all, but i didn't buy the bike so that in 10yrs i could tell ppl i have a collectors item, i bought it so i could enjoy it now, which is what i'm doing. =)
I personally hate to look for a gas station every 10 minutes, I get really annoyed by that. But if you want the peanut, there's a bunch of sites that offer it including ebay and maybe places like Chopcult.
Upload pics when you are done, i'd like to see your bike! Ride safe.
