I have a rustic finish LaRosa on my 48, I think the bag looks a bit too brown on mostly black bikes.

When I finally boiled it down to a manufacturer of a swingarm bag I liked, La Rosa, I looked at the "rustic black" offerings thinking a worn look would be cool looking but after seeing it in person I too thought it looked way too brown for a "black" bag, so I decided on the normal "black" instead - and I'm happy I did, because it goes real well with my black forkbag [not a La Rosa though]. It wasn't what I had thought a "distressed" bag would look like, and perhaps that's the difference between rustic & distressed, though I'm sure there must be examples out there of each that are a lot closer to real black than a brownish black...

Anyway, a number of months ago I was standing in a local indy shop before I got the La Rosa bag, staring over this rustic black example they had there and I remember thinking to myself..."Hmmmmm...let's see...I could go over it with some black liquid shoe polish and maybe it wouldn't look so bad..." but stopped quickly and [snapping out of it] said to myself, "Hey, wait a minute...they want more $$ for the rustic, so what the hell is the sense of that, paying more for something that I don't want only to then modify it into what I DO want?" I had to apply the brakes and shake it off to avoid this impending impulse buying thing that I always tell everyone else here to avoid, so's not to be a

Patience is a virtue [and also prevents quick decision buying of sometimes pricey items that initially and instantly serve to satisfy an itch but ultimately end up as a kick of reality instead as you see the moths flying out of your wallet!]!

Like Drew I bought the regular black one, and now after a couple months it's broken in and looks great!

It's all up to what you want the bags for. The swing arm bags didn't hold enough for me.( they look good ) And too big of bags look stupid on a sporty( my thoughts only) Hard mount bags make you relocate the turn/brake lights. So I went with throw overs and moved them forward to miss the lights.

I got the black one's... Don't hold much but truth be told i dont need to carry more than maybe a "big bird" rain suit or my lunch to work. It's enough for a big bowl, some chef boyardee and a drink. Though what ever is in there will get warm fast.

Hard to install the front strap too .
