I'll admit I loved sports bikes but when I walked into a Harley with my father and seen the 48 it was love at first site. I love everything about it I got a 2013 for 12k OTD and I couldn't be more happy with it. Yea I'm 22 but I'm sure when I get older I'll want something a little bigger but my 48 fits me perfectly.
Sportster owners are often thought of as "setteling". I dont want another bike. I would have two sportys if I could. My Mrs. always says, " Dont you want to get a bigger bike". I think alot of guys would jump on that and go get a v-twin if they wanted one. I may upgrade to a newer year eventually.. but for now, I happy on my Sportster.
For me it's like owning a Ford Model-A Hot Rod and someone asking "why don't you get a van??"
...uhh, cuz i don't kidnap children.. (j/k)
To me, they are completely different styles and for a different type of riding. I fully appreciate a nice Dyna, Softail, Road King but i don't want one.
Sportys are like Asian chicks: they look damn good and they're tiny. They are nimble and you can throw em around with ease. Some guys will tell you they are not into them, but deep down the know they'd love riding the f'ck out of one.
I am also in canada, but vancouver, west coast. I dont really see a craze over here.... i se e way more baggers then anything else.. i still have yet to see a 48 or iron rolling this spring.
I bought my sporty cause it was a starter bike and all i could afford... but i love it.. I have never rode a bigger harley.. so i have nothing to compare it to.. But i think i will probably buy another sporty in a couple years.. and pass this to the lil lady. Oh and yes it will be a 48... haha
U guys can get frigin nasty it was just a question.,..yeaah im from canada and there are a ton of baggers here...and these guys make fun of my sporty ill never sell it...idk it must be a craze south of us because i almost never see any sportys....and the additude where im from are sportys are a starter bike and nothing more....which i even tell people to **** off cause when im next to my dad at a light and it turns green im gone his EG classic cant keep up for the first part but he eventually goes flying past me.. but whatever sportster love i guess
Nothing wrong with a Dyna but there isn't anything wrong with Sporties either. I just bought one in Feb. and it is a blast. I still have my FLHX but the Sporty has it's own vibe.
