question for ya guys, the mechanic at work told me that there is a kit that i can take the mid controls and make them into forward controls is this true??
paying 400 bucks is crazy so is he right??
You can buy a forward control kit to convert from mids to forwards, but it's basically all new parts, other than you reuse the pegs from the mids.
Edit: Here's a link to one of the Harley kits.
But be advised, there are also a number of "knock-off" kits for less money on places like eBay. I'd stay away from these as many are poorly made and of sub-standard materials.
Not too sure what your mechanic is referring too as two people have said he's wrong, there are kits to convert mid controls to make them forward controls, here is one of the part numbers for Sportster, 33892-98. (Yup 400 bucks) But do your self a favour and read the warnings as they do make a big difference to cornering ability and ground clearance. Also there are some instances they wont fit so check before you buy and get a qualified Harley mechanic to do it for you. Controls are the difference between staying on the bike or sliding down the road on your backside so no bodge jobs.
