Default Need shorter shifter and brake arms 1200c

I did a quick web search and didn't find much, so I hope you guys can help me:

My wife bought a '13 1200C yesterday and quickly realized that her size 7 feet can barely reach the shifter or rear brake without moving them forward to the point where just her heel is on the pegs. She tried several bikes and even the Buell she learned on during the riders course last year had levers that were too long.

Are there any readily available shifter and brake arms out there? I figure an inch closer to the foot peg would be ideal. If nothing is available, I have a friend that can weld anything so I could section the peg, but I would rather not have a weld that could potentially break at a critical moment.

Are we talking mids or forward controls here? On my '07 the measurements are 5" from center of footrest to center of shift peg and 6" from center of footrest to center of brake pad...mid controls. Could it be the '13 models have changed mounts/dimensions? Forward controls measure slightly greater.

Sorry. Forward controls on this one. Even mid control bikes had levers that were too long. Her feet are a good 2 inches shorter than my size 11s.

Shift side would be fairly easy...devise a 90 degree peg mount. The brake side is problematic...perhaps an oversize pad that can be bolted/welded on? Either way you will lose leverage, but I guess it is better than none at all.

Best solution I can think of is offset footpegs...problem is I have found none. Perhaps some adapters, but you would have to switch style of pegs.

EDIT: Rocker Softtail has offset pegs? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Harl...-/230845890263

Maybe some mini-floorboards instead of foot pegs would allow her to move her feet closer to the controls?

Thanks for the responses guys. What I ended up doing was swapping the pegs from left to right since they have an offset. This moved her feet about an inch closer to the shifter and brake, which was perfect. I also removed the wear bars from the pegs since they faced forward instead of down.
