can't you loosen the trees and slide the forks down just enough to clear the bars?

I have already installed drag bars with the stock triple tree and it they installed fine. The shortest you can go is right in the 29-30 range. If you are having problems, I am guessing the front turn signals are either in the way (I took mine off) or you need to lower the forks a little so they are not sticking out top the triple tree so much.
