I just came back from a 40 mile ride, and just happen to notice I have a fuel leak at the quick connect. any of you got any idea what might cause this? I just drained the tank and am going to see if I can see anything obvious. oh. it's a 2008 1200 custom.
I think at the dealer they will only sell you the whole hose setup, not just the o-ring, some where on here someone has a part # from Lowes or some where for just the o-ring

Thanks, your right, what was I thinking. Ahh, the stealer...
The dealer may not have a part number for the 'o' ring for the fuel line.
However the oil drainplug 'O ' ring on a twincam is the same one , and they do have that one ..

Thank you, that helped a lot! went to the dealer today for oil filter and asked about the o ring. They had one,$2.70. After lusting over the new street glides for a while and a stop at harbor freight for dental picks I went at it. kinda tricky but gotter done, No leaks so far!
Have you done any modes to your bike like a tank lift kit? There has been a few cases here on the forum of people doing tank lifts and the quick disconnect keeps comming partway disconnected. Each time they discovered that they had to keep pushing the connector back on until it clicks, only to have it come loose again. Not everyone that has a tank lift has had this problem but almost all that have had a recurring problem with the connector coming loose have had a tank lift.

No mods, bone stock 3500 miles. some of the roads I have to ride are a bit bumpy, maybe that has something to do with it, just seems odd it should be leaking...
