Installed touring shocks on my 1200C but the shocks slowly leak oil has begun to run down the shock onto the belt.
Questions:
What oils are available for shocks?
What is the stock oil in the RK shocks?
What about recommendations on replacement oil.
Looking around doesn't find allot of options,
possibly Genuine KYB K2C SHOCK
or Amsoil Shock Therapy but both seem to be 10weight oils, is this correct?
I used BelRay 10wt, same as I put in my forks. if you can't get that you can use ATF (automatic transmission fluid) it's about 7wt I believe. ATF is a pretty good substitute for shock oil, many dirt bike riders have used it as fork oil for decades.
For the shocks I think 10 OZ is the amount I filled mine with
If it's leaking you probably need a new lower seal. These shocks aren't too difficult to rebuild. Finding parts may be a challenge... you may need to visit a Honda dealership as HD does not consider these re-buildable.

David, throw them in the bin, they are not worth messing around with! You can buy brand new shiney ones on Ebay for a little over 100 bucks, or secondhand ones for less.
Thanks guys,
they are from an SG! Might'a been why he was selling them!?!
In Israel its difficult to buy anything, good or not so I'll fiddle with it, maybe add some heavier oil not the shock oils, who knows, HOW HARD CAN IT BE??
There are a few 'How-To' threads on refilling and rebuilding these shocks... including one by yours truly. But you won't find them on this site (just sayin')
