The Dark SideFor those members running "Car Tires" on their scoots. This is for their discussion only and not a place for "non dark siders" to mouth off about their negative opinions of this idea!
That's going to be a tough one. Your options will be very limited. I would suggest you go the darkside forum and see what you can find there. http://mcdarksiders.forumotion.com/
I think you should be able to run the same as anyone with a pre 2009 touring model, but I haven't seen anyone running a car tire on a sporty before.
a car tire is a lot softer rubber than a motorcycle tire. That means that the car tire will have better traction than a motorcycle tire.
The car tires last longer because they have a larger contact patch. The acceleration/braking force is distributed through the larger contact patch and so it wears better.

correction, car tires are a harder rubber compound, that is why the last longer. They do have a larger contact patch than a MC tire, so you will have more grab. All in all I think whether you get a car tire or bike tire, it all depends on when, where , and how you drive. If you only drive 1000 miles a year and its all back roads, I would recommend staying with the OEM mc. If you're like me and drive 17k+ miles a year and most of it on the interstate, a car tire would but suitable.

You should do a little research before you start correcting people. Take a ball point pen and push it into the rubber of a car tire and then try it on a MT. I'll guarenty you the car tire is softer.
