Got out for a nice ride today (this is Thursday 2/6) before the prdicted strong storms roll in tonight.

Todays weather was nice and warm, but as predicted the winds were very strong. Supposed to be about 16-20 MPH, but felt a lot wrose. Had all to do to hold up the bike at traffic light stops. Did a short run on I-95 and the crosswinds made the bike feel like a bucking bronco.

It was only a short 100 mile loop, but decided I needed a bite to eat before heading back to the barn. Was coming up on our local Sams Club so I was a cheapy and stopped and had their 1/4 lb. Hot Dog and a drink for $1.50 + .10 tax. That is the kinda price that I like. Much better than last Tuesday, when I stopped at the Ocenside Grill, the tab was almost $20 for a Philly Cheese Sandwich.

After the storms pass tonight, they are predicting some beautiful weather for Friday Afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. Damn, I guess I'm just gonna have to ride some more .

I followed Frank's regiment of practicing slow maneuver skills; ie concentric circles, figure eights, panic stops and swerving. 50 mile slab run to/from cafe 27. then more skills practice. a big difference from nimble dyna wide glide to full dressed bagger. luckily only one "pucker up" moment during the skills stuff.

I have been working the slow manuver practice with both my Heritage and SGS. I have many more "pucker up" moments on the much lighter Heritage than I do on the heavier SGS. Something to do with the front fork rake I'm told. My knowledge on this subject is almost non exsitant...so, I'll accept what I'm told.

On the SGS I find I can come up out of a "pucker up" moment, especially in the tight U's and circles, by just a quick grab of the clutch...bike pops up real quick, not quite the same responce on the Heritage. Also, slow steering on the Heritage feels much heavier than on the SGS even with its fiaring and all. I find it much eaiser to do quick direction changes (left to right or right to left) on the SGS so setting up a U-turn is actually easier.

I'm by no means an expert at these slow manuvers, but I am making progress and I now actually look for appropriate opportunities to flip a U-turn rather that going out of my way to make a NEW JERSEY like turn...3 rights to go left .

Comming home a short while ago, I was in a slight hurry to get to J&P up at Destination Daytona and jumped on I-95 for one exit. No problem riding on it, I just hate it. I normally avoid when ever possible.

Another beautiful day yesterday!
Short ride due to time constraints. Rode over and back on the Sunshine Skyway then back north along the beaches. Stopped at a Tiki bar for a burger and a couple IPA's Great day to ride.

I am a little late to this thread. So my "yesterday" was February 9 (Sunday) and the riding yesterday was fantastic. My normal runaround.

It was so cool last night and the moon was so full I almost went out for another ride.

It is really nice this time of year when it is cooler.

[QUOTE=BuzzCap7;18866088... my "yesterday" was February 9 (Sunday) and the riding yesterday was fantastic....[/QUOTE]

Unfortunately I let yesterday (Sunday) slip away and stayed home to get some chores done. Also my Lady was not feeling too well and I did not want to leave her alone.

She is feeling better and went to work so I got out today (Monday) and went seaching for a specific pic to meet a challenge. Did a lot of slow riding around Daytona and the Speedway to see what I could find, and although I found one, it wasn't what I really wanted. So not to get too frustrated I got on the throttle and headed West and then North to catch lunch at Piersons Family Restaurant and then back East (the long roundabout way) towards home, clicking off 116 miles. A bit breezy, but just a beautiful day to ride.

Looks like tomorrow (Tuesday) will be just as nice, so just might do it all over again. You got to make hay while the sun shines they say.
