No. I'm not getting personal at all. My first post concerning this was simply stating my experience with them. Frankly I could care less what anybody thinks of anything I wear since I have no "ensemble". I wear what works for me, just like you wear what works for you, whatever that may be. I just don't think anybody should place judgment on another simply because they don't like or agree with it. I can assure you my attire while on the bike or elsewhere, is in no way influenced by other's opinions. Let's just agree that different people have different tastes. I don't pass judgement on anyone for that simply because I don't concur with it. No hard feelings to you at all.
I don't try to make fashion statements. Just watch this rube. According to the youtube page he had his chaps come loose and foul the rear wheel dragging him down.

The only way I see this happening is if he didn't have them zippered and maybe only had them buttoned.
Truthfully, I didn't see any distress on the image indicating his leg or belt line had been tugged back (which would happen if something like chaps or jeans had gotten pulled.)
Chaps have been worn by bikers as long as I can remember. That goes back into the early 60's. I have never worn them for the simple reason that they don't protect what is most important to me! I do wear leather jeans sometimes but usually just denim.
Biggest advantage is they come off in seconds so you can hang out in the bar in jeans. Go anywhere on your bike, zip off the chaps & hang out for hours without sweating to death. Now whats more gay to you, chaps on a bike or a man drinking beer in leather pants
I wear FXRG pants and bought a size jeans fit under.I don't think most posters are talking about your Village People skin tight leathers.
Also I wear shorts under them if it's warmer . When I stop for a beer or a couple hours, slip off the pants, slip off the boots and throw on the flipflops, now I'm enjoying my beer in comfort
SOOOO- I would rather stand beside a guy drinking a beer wearing shorts and flip flops than standing beside a guy who just took off his chaps after some rain looking like he pi**ed himself. LOL
I don't like the idea of leather pants because after a chili and beer night farts can only go up into your leather jacket and out around your neck. Not a good thing. At least with the chaps they have someplace to escape to before being directed to your nose.

Good for you but I couldn't care less what another biker wears at a bar. It amazes me what riders on this forum worry about & it's not what the majority of bikers feel. I think most posters here were former village people anyway. Wear whatever makes you comfortable sans g strings, ladies, ignore that statement, g strings are welcome for you
