You are wrong, in my past post, a lady in her SUV drove past the "blocker" and was hit by 2 bikes, killing one rider, the riders were found at fault. Nothing is going to happen the SUV driver.

Post up a link to the accident if you have one. It might be a wake up call to those that think it's a good idea or that someone else will be held responsible for accident involving blocking.
It's one of those inevitable things. I may not be "lawful" but the bikes from behind are still going to catch up and get around the cars, or try to at some point.

Unless the riders had the right of way from a stop sign?
you know what? I don't think that is correct. I have heard that when an emergency vehicle has their lights and sirens on they do have the right of way in an intersection regardless of the color of the light. I know someone who entered an intersection when their light was green, hit an emergency vehicle who went through the red, but had all their stuff flashing. The dude got a ticket, he was at fault!!
That might vary from area to area.
I guess I should have started with "where I live..." LOL. I'm sure every province or state has their own rules so I can only suggest that people should at least be familiar with their own local laws.
Here in Ontario;
Exception emergency vehicle
(20) Despite subsection (18), a driver of an emergency vehicle, after stopping the vehicle, may proceed without a green indication being shown if it is safe to do so. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 144 (20).

Rafael Del Val, 38, was in a convoy of some 85 motorcyclists headed to Cranfills Gap when he was fatally injured.
According to a Granbury police report, members of the motorcycle convoy were trying to stop cross-traffic at U.S. 377 and Temple Hall Highway so the group of riders could stay together. Del Val and a second biker collided with an SUV while entering the intersection against a red light.
Although a Granbury police spokesman said the case will go to the Hood County district attorney's office for presentation to a grand jury, the accident report lists Del Val's disregard of the red light as the sole contributor to the crash.
I don't care if people do it...BUT...I am not going to run a red light because some dufus badass wannabe is blocking the traffic...I'll just take a right at that light, and ride elsewhere.
