Your choices in your poll are pointless. No one except law enforcement officers, DOT workers, or city/county workers have the authority to block intersections. To think otherwise is stupid, not to mention the liability that a "blocker" assumes.
You need to ride your own ride, obey the traffic laws and arrive alive. Groups of bikers have no more rights than any other motorist. Get use to it.
Personally it doesnt bother me. We were on a poker run with about 50 bikes and blocked intersections. On the way to te last stop 2 guys blocked an intersection where a cop happen to be waiting for a light. He stopped them and told them it was highly illegal to do what they are doing. He ran names and handed out a hefty fine to each of them. 20 mins later 6-7 squads showed up at the bar and told us the next person in our group blocking traffic will have their bike confiscated.

Agreed, and one of the several reasons I no longer participate in local HOG rides it simply pisses-off drivers.

I would expect nothing less........
I personally feel it's extreme arrogance to think that other people should be "held up" so bikers can keep together. Everybody feels like they are special; cages, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles. Each group believes they have reasons to "justify" why they should receive special consideration.
I believe if everybody just followed the rules of the road, there would be far less tension between the groups sharing the roadways and traffic would flow better.
Read a post a little while back about a rider complaining about getting stuck in traffic because there was a large group of riders that were treating the roads as if they owned them. By that I mean, they blocked traffic at intersections so that there group can stay together.
I did not know how I felt. It took me until now to decide that I would not be upset if I came across a motorcycle blocking traffic at an intersection so that his group can complete a turn at an intersection.
Maybe I am biased because at times, I enjoy a group ride of 10 to 15 bikes.
Maybe the rider that was complaining does not like to ride in groups at all.
Then I was wondering if the rider that was complaining, hated waiting for a funeral procession to pass.
How do you feel?
It's inconsiderate, irresponsible, unsafe and illegal. RUB poser parades have no right inconveniencing others.

Agreed.
The understanding with the group of guys that I ride with is that we'll all obey the code of the road, keeping in mind that we don't ever own the road. It's the leader's responsibilty to pull over and wait if some of us get stuck behind while obeying the law. We can and do ride hard, but in traffic is not one of those times.

gees lighten up guys, why not wait that couple of minutes and let a poker run or charity ride go thru together. it's only a short wait and it's safer than having 20 bikes on the shoulder waiting for the other 10.
I believe that when a LARGE group of bikes is involved (100 or more) for a charity event, funeral or the like, it is smart to block intersections in the interest of safety and keeping cars out of the pack. These types of events also seem to attract a lot of inexperienced riders, and/or riders who drink a little too much during the event (I know, I know, but you know it happens).
That being said, law enforcement will usually work with the organizers of these events and do the blocking for them, legally.
Around here, if cooperation with law enforcement is not an option, we try to split the ride into smaller groups leaving at staggered times. On the really large rides, my close friends will leave as a small group anyway to avoid dealing with the newbies and wannabes.
