Nope don't agree with it. You don't have the legal right to impede others. How do you know someone in that other car isn't in a hurry. Maybe they need to get to a hospital, maybe they have an important appointment, job interview etc... A good road captain and rear gunner will recover from this easily. If not find another captain for your group. Also what happens if a vehicle goes through on the green and the blocker is hit? Who do you think will be at fault?

I ride with large groups sometimes .. PGR and ALR and they will block intersections. The only time I'm doing it is when there are cops involved.
When I'm in my cage I don't like it (when no cops are involved). It seems pompous, like they think they are above the law.
When I play ride captain, I try to split a big column up into groups. The groups behind always catch up eventually. If you got a red light just stop.
Most of the PGR missions I've been on have police escort anyway.
I dont think intersections should be blocked unless by LEO. I dont like to ride in large groups anyway, I want to be able to know and trust those riding with me.
This is why fall back riders were invented... It's not hard to get back together as a group if everyone knows the guidelines of group riding. If a group gets cut in half, and the lead group makes a subsequent turn, the last rider(in the lead group) falls back with his signal on so the second half of the group knows which way to go. It's really simple and works everytime as long as everyone in the group knows how it works at the offest.

I ride with the PGR + am a road captain with HOG. HOG forbids it + PGR does it all the time IF they can't get LEOs to do it. I like the idea, but the liability is staggering. Legally, you don't have the authority. OTOH, we did it ALL the time in heavy highway construction.
