Default Heated Glove Help

I need t ask this question before I go nuts...

I have a new pair of venture heat gloves http://www.ventureheat.com/power-spo...ng-gloves.html

I have it connected to the battery and when the bike is running they turn on and heat up well. When I start the bike they wont turn on, or if they do its only for a second.

Anybody experience this before on any heated gloves?

Gary

I use Gerbing myself, but they all heat up on 12 volts. I hook my controller directly to the battery. You just have to remember to turn them off. But loosing power after the bike starts, I've never heard of that. Check your power source with a volt meter, before and after starting.

I am hooked directly to the battery... I will get a meter on it to see if there is an issue with the system it's a 2013 street glide??? wouldn't expect an issue.

Default Heated Gloves

My instructions said not to turn my heated gear on until after the bike was started.
On my Road Glide, I bought a cigarette lighter plug in to power my heated gear. It makes setting up the controller a lot easier. When the plug in arrived, I was surprised it had a off/on switch. Hook it all up, start the bike, turn it on.

Tried that also. They come on, then shut off.

What voltage should I read at the battery when running? Incase there is an over voltage?

Gloves say 12v to 13.8

Turn it off and then back on.

I tried that,

Started the bike, plugged in the gloves, lights come on and go out.

Shut the bike off, plug in the gloved and lights come on and stay on and they heat up fine?

I am perplexed.

what voltage did you get with the bike running? maybe too high and some safety switch on the glove controller cuts out?

The voltage is 12.7v when not running and 14.4v when running at idle, must be a protection circuit

I will call the company to ask why they would have it in this range..
Maybe I will make a regulator to keep it at 12.5v

I knew I wasn't crazy

Fixed it.

I used (2) 10A Rectifier diodes in series to drop the voltage enough to allow them to work.
