i don't think that there is any one 'default' code. i have bought several bikes over the past few years, but only from 2 different dealers. one uses the last 5 of the vin, while the other used 1 2 3 4 5

Well, how did it turn out 4 ya? If all else fails and this don't work, take it back to the dealer and have them walk you thru the process, that way you get to learn and while you are there make them print you an owners manual, lol. Good luck to ya Glook1
