Hydraulic Lifter Problem

How much oil behind cam cover?
I removed the exhaust tonight, and loosened the 10 cam cover screws. I have not drained the engine oil, so I decided to check here before I remove the cam cover. Will 3.5qts of oil drain out or not so much?

you definitely want a drain pan under there and I usually stuff rags between the bottom of the cam chest and the frame rail.

Cam change
Tomorrow I will give it a rap and remove the cover to see what my cams look like.
