I've used these cutting methods with success in the past, The torch works excellent and leaves the edge looking like glass. I like a belt sander to shape the area after the cuts. Keep in mind the Flare is and aero type shield and you may compromise the structural integrity of the shield causing it to weaken and flutter depending on how much material is removed. I love the Flare on my bike, I've had it for 6 years and tried several others before finding something tha moved the wind away.
