Default Mounting Air Horn Compressor in Fairing?

Would like to put a BMFing airhorn on my StreetGlide and was wondering if anyone has put the air compressor inside the fairing? Is there a DIY anywhere here on the Forum? (Search function no function)

thanks!

You may want to rethink that because from those that I have seen, they all need an occasional shot of lubricant in the compressor. Not very often, mind you, but still needed. In side the fairing could make that a wee problem.Possibly consider mounting it behind a saddlebag. you can hide the hoses pretty easily, and you have access should you need it. Just a thought. That is where I put mine, with one trumpet on each side. To the casual look, they are invisible, but hit the button? Wakes up those cagers, I'll tell you.

you could but...the air compressor should be run via a relay...so extra wiring ( fused) from the battery.

pulling the tank to run the wire is easy easy.

oil? some compressors intake air via a hose- if so a drop of oil in the hose would work if the hose is higher than the compressor.

in the past a ran a horn from howie- it failed pretty quick.

so I bought a HD branded off the classisifeds and it works well- mounts in place of teh stock horn

I went thru 3 of the Harley air horns, each time my ESP replaced them. The 4th one was a cash refund when the shop could no longer get them. Harley quit selling them. I liked the horn but it was junk. Good luck. An O ring in the compressor fails.

What is the BMFing airhorn? I can't find anything on it. I've got Howards Horns on mine now and I'm not very happy with them

I didn't read that as a brand... I read it as Big Mother F..ing airhorn...

But I've been wrong before. Quite often in fact.

I ran 2 compressors on my Heritage, mounted them in the left saddlebag...

Not as easy with hard bags.

I'm thinking of putting a compressor or 2 in the left lower.
